It has been a few weeks since my last post. Not much has changed, I have been walking and cycling (not extensively or regularly), I have changed my diet to have lower quantity and higher quality, but my weight shows no sign of changing for good. I still weigh about 226 pounds.

I have vowed to reduce my weight to 219 pounds by end of July. I plan to do this by regularly exercising (I mean daily). What I have seen is when I exercise for say 3 days in a row, the benefits of the exercise which includes the feeling of well being, the feeling of being light weight and general happiness, stretches for a few days beyond the last day I exercised.

Exercising has so many benefits and It gives it up so easily and generously, I am surprised, I keep slipping back to state of no exercise as often as I am doing.

Anyway my vow to reduce my weight to 219 by end of July holds and let us see if I can do that.

I have been walking regularly. My wife has been more active and has lost some weight and is looking slimmer. She has taken to Cycling, Exercising in the Gym and Swimming all at the same time.

I have lost a few pounds. This morning I was at 227 pounds.

I hope to be around 220 pounds by 2nd week of July. This is my short term plan, let us see if I succeed.

It has been three days since I blogged. Today is Saturday, So I got up late.
Anyway, good news, Yesterday morning my weight registered at 228 pounds, hopefully this downward trend continues.
I was also able to walk everyday, except for Thursday as I have to attend school. Me and My wife also made a token visit to the gym. We did not do much exercise, but just got acquainted with the equipment, I plan to start regular nightly visits to the gym from Monday June 23 2008. This in addition with walking should be beneficial.

It has been a partly successful day today, but most of it has not been according to plan. I was able to do a 30 minutes walk today(I walked from work to home, which is about 1.5 miles), but other than that, I had 4 slices of Thick crust Cheese Pizza, because of a party at the office. Also I had good amount of food after I came back home.
I am beginning to realize, that there are so many temptations along the road to ideal weight, especially that of rich food and for me endless TV. These are the two things I think if I conquer, the road would become more surer.
I actually gained a pound today, my weight was 229 pounds in the morning.I think I would cross 230 tomorrow. I easily gain or lose 4-5 pounds without feeling or noticing any difference.

Today has not been a very fruitful day in terms of my weight loss goals. Although I did eat moderately today, I still did take good number of calories. No exercise today, so that is a dampner.
I did play 3 games of table tennis and must have burned of a few calories.

I want to start activities that will help me in reducing my weight. I have decided to start with two this week
1. 30 minutes on a threadmill everyday.
2. 30 minutes of cycling or walking everyday.

I will start both these activites tomorrow. (really!!).

Why I started this blog

I am struggling, I am struggling to reduce my weight. Time and again I have launched wars against my excess weight, but I have always lost. So this time I decided to blog about it. I want to use this blog as an external reminder to me, about what I am going through and how I am reacting to what I am going through. This blog I hope will help me to externalize my problem, I want to put words to what I am going through,maybe that will help me in creating stategy to fight and win this war on the bulge.

I am going to put information regarding my weight in all the blog entries following this one. That will help me keep track of my weight reduction efforts.
